Choose a school party costume by combining the school’s actual instructions, your child’s preferences and the day’s activities. Before deciding, establish when it will be worn, whether a change of clothes is needed, what help has been agreed and where unused pieces will go. That gives you a plan for this particular school day.
To organise a school play costume, start with the role and the look agreed with the teacher or person leading the production. Record what is worn in each scene, what changes, where the change happens and who has agreed to help. Rehearsal can reveal questions to resolve; a return list keeps borrowed items separate from your own.
If your child wants to dress up but does not want a mask, start with what they like about the role: colours, shapes or a distinctive detail. Build a look from pieces they choose to wear.
